Black River was formed in 2008 by people from different music worlds who can allow in its music everything that was hardly possible in their other groups. They have made really explosive mixture which gives energy injection – music that is still metal but goes back to rock’n’roll sounds that inspired such artists as The Cult or Monster Magner. Black River is a return to roots, homage for tradition and analogous tone. Here is no place for cheap trash and plastic. Just garage, filth and true vibration. May 2008 was the release date of their first album highly acclaimed in Poland. Self-titled debut album was promoted by videoclip to the song “Silence” which featured famous Polish actress, Agnieszka Warchulska. The band played several live shows and ended that year playing Black Sun Tour with mates from Unsun and Votum. In early 2009 Black River was nominated for Fryderyk – most important musical award in Poland. Late spring was the time of rehearsing and playing new song which ended up being even more energetic and catchy then those already know to wide audience. The follow-up to self-titled debut was recorded in Studio Sonus and Studio Gdansk - engineered by Malta (Behemoth). “Black’n’roll” consists of 11 adrenaline-fuelled songs that will make you headbang, dance, scream, shout, make love and drink. As Kay explains the contents of Black River second album: “It has the taste of good whisky, it smells with sweat of girls dancing at the strip bar and with odour of car tires burnt on tarmac”. This is metalized rock’n’roll of XXI century! The band has already played a monster tour with Behemoth this autumn, and more than anything else that wish to present their music to the whole world!
